Experiencing complex trauma can leave a lasting impact on our well-being, affecting our emotions, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Common symptoms of complex trauma may include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem low self-confidence, difficulty trusting others, recurring flashbacks / intrusive memories, emotional numbness, and disrupted relationships to name a few.
However, the journey towards healing and recovery is possible. Counselling provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their experiences, process their emotions, and develop effective coping strategies. With the guidance of a skilled therapist, clients can gain insights into the underlying patterns and beliefs that contribute to their symptoms.
Through specialized therapeutic techniques and evidence-based approaches, counselling can help individuals address the effects of trauma. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, counsellors can support clients in rebuilding a sense of safety, developing healthy boundaries, and cultivating self-compassion.
Here at STC, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate the effects of trauma through compassionate counselling. With expertise in trauma-informed care, I create a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, gain insights, and work towards personal growth and healing.
No one should have to face the impacts of trauma alone.
Reach out to me today to embark on a transformative journey towards healing, recovery, and reclaiming a sense of well-being in your life.
From my private practice, I offer one-to-one and couples counselling to adults of all ages , in a face to face or online capacity. I provide a warm and welcoming environment to support you. The relationship between us, as therapist and client, is hugely important, therefore I offer all new clients a free 15 minute discovery phone call to discuss what you would like from counselling and to see if we can work together.
As an Integrative therapist, I draw on a wide range of theories, including some from a neuroscience background, which help us to understand the relationship between mind, body and our sense of safety and emotional wellbeing.
Many clients benefit from developing their ability to notice what is going on in their body and being curious about this. If you feel comfortable, as well as talking, our sessions might include breathwork practices that I feel may be beneficial for you. However, this will always be your choice.
It is my belief counselling can be a useful support for any problem.
